Privacy Policy

Classroom Prompt Builder (the “Service”) is a free, browser-based tool that helps K–12 teachers build AI prompts for lessons, assessments, tasks, presentations, and teaching strategy. Optional paid PDF guides may be offered separately. This page explains what data the Service does and does not collect.

1. What we collect

We do not collect personal information through the prompt-building workflow. There are no signup forms, no accounts, no email collection, and no data sent to our servers from the prompt-building workflow.

If you buy an optional PDF guide, Stripe collects payment information during checkout and shares limited purchase details needed for fulfillment, such as the checkout session ID, purchased product, and buyer email address. We use that information only to send the secure download link, handle support, prevent duplicate fulfillment, and maintain purchase records.

2. What stays on your device

The Service stores the following items in your browser’s localStorage on your device only:

Clearing your browser data removes this information. We cannot read, recover, or access it.

3. Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics on public pages through a small analytics.js module (powered by @vercel/analytics). It records aggregate, non-identifying page-view metrics only. Per Vercel’s documentation, Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not collect IP addresses in a persistent form, and does not build cross-site user profiles. We use that aggregate data only to understand which pages are visited and at what frequency. Web Analytics must be enabled in the Vercel project dashboard for metrics to be collected.

4. Student data

The Service is designed for teacher use. We do not knowingly collect student personally identifiable information (PII). Teachers should not enter student names, IDs, contact information, grades, or other identifying details into the form fields. If you choose to copy a prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other third-party AI tool, that tool’s privacy policy will govern how it handles whatever text you send.

5. Schools and FERPA

Because the Service does not collect, store, or transmit student records to our servers, it is not designed to function as a school official under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The Service is a stateless prompt-building utility. Districts that wish to adopt the Service should review their own data-governance policies and ensure teachers follow guidance about what content to put into AI tools.

6. Children

The Service is intended for use by teachers, not by children. We do not knowingly collect any data from children under 13.

7. Cookies

The Service does not set cookies. Vercel Analytics, when enabled by the hosting project, is cookieless. Site fonts are served from this domain as self-hosted static assets; no Google Fonts request is made by the shipped public pages.

8. Third-party AI tools

The Service provides buttons that open ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini in a new tab. Once you leave the Service, the privacy policy of the destination tool applies.

9. Payment and email providers

Optional PDF purchases are processed by Stripe. Transactional delivery emails are sent through Resend. These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our servers.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be reflected on the home page.
